Disaster recovery/home repair
October 21, 2025
Van and Frances’s home was significantly damaged from Helene floods in September of last year, like so many others in Cocke County. With help from Clinch-Powell, a grant from Ballad Health, Empower Cocke County, and other area supporters, their plumbing was repaired, and they were able to get back into their home! Not only is their home livable again, but Van and Frances have plumbing upgrades that are better than the existing system pre-flood AND that will last. Pictured: Clinch-Powell staff member, Michelle Lane, celebrated with the couple as they moved back in just a few days before the one year anniversary of the flood.
Recovering and rebuilding from the widespread damage Hurricane Helene brought to our region is a process, which is why we are investing in people, places, and prosperity to create lasting change while tackling the current housing crisis. Clinch-Powell will continue to collaborate with long term recovery partners, regional networks, and funding partners to bring people back into their homes, access new housing, or take the next step that’s right for them.
