Helene Recovery Disaster Repair Recap

December 11, 2025

Since early 2025, Clinch-Powell has joined local and regional partners to support the East Tennessee communities impacted by Hurricane Helene floods.

Once the urgent needs of shelter, water, food, and safety had been met, long term recovery groups were organized and partnerships developed with community housing development organizations like Clinch-Powell to continue meeting the needs of families and community members displaced due to severe damage or loss of their homes.

From surface level repairs, to complete rebuilds, we have been working with groups including Cocke County Long Term Recovery and Empower Cocke County, with funding from FHLB Disaster Reconstruction Grant, United Way Fund, East Tennessee Fund, Ballad Health, and New Directions Grants to complete necessary repairs and help families come back home. Our most extensive project to date involved installation of flood vents, a new rough, plumbing, insulation, new doors, cabinets, trim, sheetrock and painting throughout the home.

New funding from USDA Disaster Assistance Fund and HPG Disaster Recovery is now available for home repair or replacement due to Helene. Some restrictions apply. Contact hollie@clinchpowell.net or call us at 423-720-1956 for more information and to start your application!
