Lindy Turner has been with Clinch-Powell RC&D since its beginning in 1989. With a degree in agriculture from Tennessee Technological University, she became one of the first women to hold a leadership position in the Tennessee State Department of Agriculture. Lindy initially coordinated the operations of the organization as an employee of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, later becoming Executive Director in 2011 after retiring from NRCS with 30 years of service. She is the recipient of several national awards including the National Public Service Award from the USDA Secretary of Agriculture.
Her background in agriculture made her the ideal person to lead Clinch-Powell’s early and continuing efforts in natural resource conservation, and her passion for community allowed her to see people as the most valuable resource and grow Clinch-Powell into the organization it is today with programs that serve people from all walks of life.
Lindy’s uncanny ability to plan for the future and her tremendous leadership skills have been key to the longevity and success of Clinch-Powell. #30years #30faces
