This site is the combined effort of Clinch-Powell Resource Conservation and Development Council and the Clinch-Powell Enterprise Community.

Clinch Powell Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council is a rural community development organization that has been serving the five county area since 1990. Our mission is to serve the needs of our community, to protect our environment, and to enhance the quality of life of the people of the area through leadership, education, volunteerism, and action. The RC&D serves as the lead entity and fiscal agent for the Clinch-Powell Enterprise Community.

The Clinch-Powell Enterprise Community (EC) is an area included in our five-county region that received special designation by the federal government as a Enterprise Community. Over ten years, this designated area will receive $2.75 million in direct government funding, tax incentives to businesses within the EC, and special priority when applying for federal grants.

The following map shows the area covered by both the RC&D and the EC. The RC&D covers the entire map, while the areas included in the EC are show in gray. The map also shows a few industrial parks that are included in the EC.

This site is designed to give you information about both the RC&D and the EC. However, this site also provides you information about community events, services available to residents, and a chance to provide feedback to the Enterprise Community and the RC&D

The site is divided up into the following sections

RC&D - All the information you need to know about the RC&D, including board and staff, history and mission, and detailed information about current RC&D programs.

Enterprise Community - Information about the EC. You can look over the EC plan, find out about what the EC has already done, and find out about applying for EC grants.

Community Services - A detailed listing of hospitals, libraries, schools, government offices, newspapers and non-profit services that are available in our community

Community Calendar - A continuously updated calendar showing events and other important information about our area.
