Clinch-Powell has over thirty different affordable rental units spread out over six (6) counties
(Claiborne, Grainger, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, and Jefferson). Our rental units are multi-bedroom apartments, duplexes, and/or single-family houses. Our rental units are “affordable” because rents charged are no higher than the fair market rents designated for the particular area. We do not provide rental assistance, but we do accept Section 8 Vouchers.
In order to qualify for tenancy, a completed rental application and fee must be returned along with copies of the additional documentation listed on the application cover letter. In addition to qualifying an applicant household based on finances, we conduct criminal background checks and review credit history. We do not expect background or credit to be perfect, but this information is important to the application screening process. We also require a positive referral from previous landlords. A complete application must be received in order for an applicant to be put on property waiting lists. The application process can take as long as 30 days.
